The perimeter of a rectangular plot is 120 metres.The length of the plot is 5 times it's breadth, find the length and breadth of rectangle

Answer:

let x m be the length of breadth

then length is equal to 5x

perimeter of rectangle = 2( length + breadth)

=2(5x+ x)

=12x = 120

=× = 10m

length and width are 50 m and 10m respectively

Solution :-

Let us assume that , breadth of given rectangle is x m .

Than,

Breadth = x m

→ Length = 5 times of breadth = 5 * x = 5x m.

So,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth) = 2(5x + x) = 2*6x = 12x m .

Now, we have given that, perimeter of rectangle is 120m.

Therefore,

12x = 120

→ x = 10m.

Hence,

Breadth of rectangle = x = 10m.

Length of rectangle = 5x = 50m.

Option (A) is correct Answer.
