l + b = 100

l = 100 - b

Area = Length * Breadth

2400 = ( 100 - b ) * b

2400 = 100b - b²

0 = 100b - b² - 2400

b² - 100b + 2400 = 0

b² - 60b - 40b + 2400 = 0

b ( b - 60 ) - 40 ( b - 60 ) = 0

( b - 60 ) ( b - 40 ) = 0

So , b = 60 or b = 40
