Let x = the breadth of the rectangular field

70 m = 2x + 2(x+15) = 4x + 30

4x = 40

x = 10 m (breadth)

x+15 = 25 m (length)

Depending on the orientation of the path surrounding the rectangular field, the concrete path’s area will vary.

Area of the concrete path = Area of the entire lot- Area of the rectangular field

Area of the entire lot = (5+25+5) * (2.5+10 +2.5) = 525 sq m

Area of the rectangular field = (25) * (10) = 250 sq m

Area of the concrete path = 525 - 250 = 275 sq m

hope it helps you.

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b) = 70m

l =?

b = 15

2(l+b) = 2(l + 15)= 70

l+15 = 70/2

l+15 = 35

l = 35-15

l= 20

area of rectangle= l*b = 20*15= 300m
