Given:-

  • Perimeter of the plot = 2km = 2000m

To find:-

  • length of the plot
  • breadth of the plot

Assumption:-

Let the breadth be x

\sf{Length = 3 \:times\: breadth = 3 \times x = 4x}

Solution:-

\sf{Perimeter\: of\: a\: rectangular\: plot = 2\times(Length + Breadth)}

= \sf{2000 = 2\times(x + 3x)}

= \sf{\dfrac{2000}{2} = 4x}

=>\sf{\dfrac{1000}{4} = x}

=> \sf{x = 250}

Now,

\sf{Length = 3x}

= \sf{3 \times 250\:m}

= \sf{750m}

=>\sf{\dfrac{750}{1000} \:km}

=> \sf{Length = 0.75\:km}

\sf{Breadth = x}

= \sf{250\:m}

= \sf{\dfrac{250}{1000}\:km}

=>\sf{0.25\:km}

Additional Information:-

  • \sf{Perimeter\: of \:a \:rectangle = 2(length + breadth)\:units}

  • \sf{Perimeter\:of\:a\:square = (4\times side)\:units}

  • \sf{Area\:of\:a\:rectangle = (length\times breadth) \:sq.units}

  • \sf{Area\:of\:a\:square = {(side)}^{2} \:sq.units}
