Let the width of the rectangle be x

now it is given that the length is 2 times the x so 2x

perimeter is 420 m

let us use the formula of perimeter to derive our answer

2(width+length)=420

2(x+2x)=420

2*3x=420

3x=420/2=210

x=210/3=70 m

CHECKING

perimeter=2(l+b)

2(140+70)=420 m

therefore our answer is correct......

therefore the width is 70 m and length is 70*2=140 m
