The perimeter of a rectangular swimming pool is 154m.If the length is 2m more than twice of its breadth. Find the length and breadth.

Solution :

Let us consider the length and breadth be x and y respectively

According to question

\sf \implies 2(x + y) = 154 \\\\ \sf \implies x + y = 77 .......(1)

Again by question

\sf \implies x = 2+2y .......(2)

Putting the value of x from (2) in (1):

\sf \implies 2+2y + y = 77 \\\\ \sf \implies 3y = 77-2 \\\\ \sf \implies 3y = 75 \\\\ \sf \implies y = \dfrac{75}{3} \\\\ \sf \implies y = 25

Thus, the breadth is 25m

Now from (1) we have

\sf \implies x =2 + 2 \times 25 \\\\ \sf \implies x = 2+ 50 \\\\ \sf \implies x = 52

Therefore, the length is 52m
