Given data :-

• The perimeter of a rectangular swimming pool is 154 m.
• Length of rectangular swimming pool is 2 m more than twice It's breadth.

Solution :-

Let, breadth of rectangular swimming pool be x

Hence,

→ Breadth ( B ) = x m ..... ( 1 )

{According to given}

→ Length ( L ) = {2x + 2} m. ........( 2 )

→ Perimeter of rectangular swimming pool = 154 m

Now, according to formula of perimeter of rectangle

→ Perimeter of rectangular swimming pool = 2 {L + B}

{from eq. ( 1 ) and eq. ( 2 )}

→ 154 = 2 {x + 2x + 2}

→ 154 = 2 {3x + 2}

→ 154 = 6x + 4

→ 154 - 4 = 6x

→ 150 = 6x i.e.

→ x = 150/6

→ x = 25

Hence,

{from eq. ( 1 )}

→ Breadth = x m

→ Breadth = 25 m

{from eq. ( 2 )}

→ Length = {2x + 2} m

→ Length = {2 × 25 + 2} m

→ Length = {50+ 2} m

→ Length = 52 m

Hence, Length and breadth of rectangular swimming pool is 52 meter and 25 meter respectively.
