Answer:

Let breadth be x

length = 4 + 2x

2(4+2x + x) = 188

2(4+3x) = 188

8 + 6x = 188

6x = 188 - 8 = 180

x = 180/6 = 30m

Thus, breadth = 30m

length = 64m

Answer:

Let length of pool is x m and breadth y m

so by first condition,

2(x+y)=188m. eq(1)

and by second condition,

x=y+4 eq(2)

on putting the value of x from eq(2) in eq (1) we get

2(y+4+y)=188

2(2y+4)=188

4y+8=188

4y=188-8

4y=180

y=180÷4

y=45

hence breadth of pool is 45m

on putting the value of y in eq(2) we get

x=45+4

x=49

so the length of pool is 49m
