perimeter =2(L+B) length =4+B
40m= 2(4+B+B)
40m=8+2B+2B
40-8=2B+2B
32=4B
B=8
Breadth =8
Length =12
==12

verify =2(12+8)
=24+16
=40m

LET THE BREADTH BE B
ACCORDING TO QUESTION :
LENGTH = 4M GREATER THAN BREADTH = 4M + B
PERIMETER  = 2 ( L+ B )
                          2(4+B+B )
                           8 +2B +2B
SO
 8 + 2B +2B = 40
 8 +4 B = 40
4B = 40- 8
4B = 32
B = 32/ 4
B = 8

SO NOW
BREADTH   = B = 8 M
LENGTH = B+4 = 8+4 = 12M

VERIFICATION :
2(L+B)
2(8 +12)
16+24 = 40
HENCE PROVED
