let b= x
then l = 3x
2(l+b)=perimeter of rectangle
2(x+3x)= 64
2×4x= 64
8x= 64
x= 64÷8
x= 8
so therefore b= 8, l=24
area= l×b
= 8 ×24
= 192m²
a to q length of carpet
l×40 = 192
l= 192÷ 40
l=4.8 m. answer
