The perimeter of a rhombus in 40 cm . If one of the diagonals is 16 cm, find the other diagonal and the area of the rhombus.

  • Let the the diagonal  be 2 x cm.
  • Side of rhombus = √ (16/2)² + (x)²

    A/Q,   √ 8² + x² = 10

⇒ 8 ² + x² = 10²

⇒ x ² = 100 - 64 = 36

∴ x = 6.


Area = 1/2 x 16 x 12 = 96 cm².
