Perimeter of a rhombus is 52 cm . one of the diagonal is 24 . find the area of the rhombus

Perimeter=4s

52=4s

s=52/4=13cm.

as diagonal divides rhombus into 2 triangles, we will use Heron's formula

√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

s=(a+b+c)/2

a=side1,b=side2, c=side3

s=(13+13+24)/2

=50/2

=25

√s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

√25(25-24)(25-13)(25-13)

=√25*1*12*12

=√5²*12²

=5*12

=60

as 2 triangles are formed,

area of rhombus= 2*60

=120 sq. cm
