let prep.(BC)= a.

base (BA) = c. and hypo.(CA)= b units of a

right angled triangle ABC . given that:-

a+b+c= 12……….(1).

b=5…………………(2) so that a+c= 7 ………..(3).

And with the help of paithogoros theorem.

a^2+c^2=b^2.

(a+c)^2–2ac=b^2.

(7)^2–2ac=(5)^2.

-2ac=25–49.

-2ac=-24

or a.c= 12.

Area of triangle ABC = a.c/2

= 12/2

=6sq.units. Answer
