(Hypotenuse)² = (Perpendicular)² + (Base)²

(Perpendicular)² = (Hypotenuse)² - (Base)²

(13cm)² -(5cm)²

169cm² - 25cm²

144cm²

(Perpendicular)² = 144cm²

Perpendicular = √144cm²

= 12cm

Perpendicular is also known as height.

Therefore,

 \frac{h_{b}b}{2}  \\  =  \frac{12 \times 5}{2}  \\  =  \frac{60}{2} \\  = 30 {cm}^{2}

Area = 30cm²
