Given :

★ The perimeter of square and rectangle are same.

  • Side of Square is 16cm
  • Length of Rectangle is 20cm

To Find :

  • The Width/Breadth of the Rectangle.

Solution :

_____________________

★ We know,

Perimeter of square = 4×Side

Here, Side is 16cm

=⟩ 4 × 16

=⟩ 64cm

Therefore, Perimeter of Square is 64cm

So, Perimeter of square and rectangle are same:

  • Perimeter of square = 64 cm
  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 64cm

Now, In Rectangle length is given.

L = 20cm

[ Breadth = Perimeter/2 - Length ]

=⟩ b = 64/2 - 20

=⟩ b = 32 - 20

=⟩ b = 12

Therefore, Breadth of the Rectangle is 12cm

Check :

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

=⟩ 2 ( 20 + 12 )

=⟩ 2 ( 32 )

=⟩ 64

Formulas for Perimeter

Triangle = Sum of all sides (a+b+c)

Square = 4 × Side

Rectangle = 2(l+b)

Circle = 2πr

Given:-

  • Side of square is 16cm.
  • Length of rectangle is 20cm.
  • Perimeter of rectangle and square is same.

To find:-

  • Breadth of the rectangle.

Solution:-

  • We have to find the perimeter of the square and the we'll put it in the formula of rectangle.
  1. We know that the formula for the perimeter of square is 4×side.
  2. We also know that the formula for the perimeter of rectangle is 2(length+breadth).

Solution to find perimeter of square:-

-»4×16cm

---» 64cm

Solution to find the perimeter of rectangle:-

2(20cm+b)=64cm

---» 20cm+b=64cm/2

---» 20cm+b=32cm

---» b=32cm-20cm

---» b=12cm

Therefore the breadth of the rectangle is 12cm.
