Perimeter of cardboard = 24cm
Thus, the length of each side = 24/4 = 6cm 
(Perimeter of square = 4 * length of each side)
Area = side x side = 6 * 6  =  36sq. cm

so
4*side=24
s=24/4
s=6
after find its area=side²
6²=36 cm² ans.
