Solution :-

Perimeter of the square field = 8 km

Side of the square = Perimeter/4

⇒ 8/4

⇒ Side of the square = 2 km

So, length of each side of the square is 2 km

Area of square = Side*Side

⇒ 2 km × 2 km

= 4 sq km

As we know that 1 sq km = 100 hectares

So, 4 km = 400 hectares

Hence, the area of the square field is 400 hectares.

Given:

Perimeter of the square field = 8 km

Perimeter of Square = 4 × side

Side of the square = Perimeter/4

Side of a square = 8/4= 2

Side of the square = 2 km

Each side of the square is 2 km (all sides of a square are equal)

Area of square = Side × Side

Area of Square = 2 × 2

= 4 km²

Area of Square = 4 km²

1 km² = 100 hectares(ha)

4 km²= 4× 100 ha= 400 ha

Hence, the area of the square field is 400 ha.
