Step-by-step explanation: 4s = 48 so, side = 12m

                                             area = s^2 = 144m^2

                                                      144/18 = no. of flowerbeds

                                                      = 8

hey mate here is your answer:

Given:

Perimeter of square=48 m

 =  > 4a = 48

 =  > a = 12m

where 'a' is side of square;

Area covered by flower bed=18m²,

Area not covered(area)=Area of garden-area covered by flower bed

area = a {}^{2} - 18

 =  > area = (12) {}^{2}  - 18

area = (144 - 18)m {}^{2  }  = 126m {}^{2}

Now,

Fraction of area covered by flower bed=

 \frac{area \: of \: flower \: bed}{area \: of \: garden}

 =  \frac{18}{144}

 =  \frac{1}{8}

Fraction=1/8(answer)
