Side=10cm

Area=100cm²

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Side or the square =40/4cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀=10cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Area of a square=Side×side

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀=10×10cm²

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀=100cm²

  1. In first step the perimeter was divided by 4.
  2. The reason behind dividing it by 4 was that a square has 4 sides.
  3. When sides are given what do we do; we simply multiply the side 4 times.
  4. Hence to find the side we divided it by 4.
  5. on division it gave 10 as quotient hence,making it the side.
  6. Now to find the area we must know that side.
  7. So here we have the side i.e., 10cm
  8. To find area of a square we need to multiply the side to itself i.e., 10×10cm²
  9. On multiplication it gave 100cm² hence,making it the area of the square.
