Answer:

 Breadth \: of \: rectangle (b)= 1000\:m

Step-by-step explanation:

i ) Let side of a square = a m

Perimeter (P)=48 m (given)

=> 4a = 48

/* Divide both sides by 4, we get

=> a = 12 m

and

Dimensions of a rectangle:

length (l) = 14 cm = 0.14 m

Let breadth = b m

According to the problem given,

The area of a rectangle is 4 sq m less than the area of the given square

=> lb = -4

=> 0.14b = (12)²-4

=> 0.14b = 144-4

=> 0.14b = 140

 \implies \frac{14b }{100}= 140

\implies b = \frac{140\times 100}{14}\\=1000 \: m

Therefore,

 Breadth \: of \: rectangle (b)= 1000\:m
