the perimeter of a square is equal to that of a rectangle of length 17 m and breadth 11 m. Find the area of the square.

the perimeter of a square = perimeter of rectangle.

the perimeter of a rectangle=2×(l+b)

=2×(17+11)

=2×28

=56m

perimeter of square = perimeter of rectangle.

perimeter of square =4×side

56 = 4×side

56÷4 =side

14 = side

area of square = side× side

= 14×14

= 196m²
