The perimeter of a square is equal to that of a rectangle of length=17 and breadth 11 m. Find the area of the square.

Answer:

perimeter of rectangle = 2( l + b ) = 2( 17 + 11 )

= 3( 28 ) = 84m

perimeter of rectangle = Perimeter of square

Perimeter of square = 84m

Perimeter = 4a ( a = side )

84 = 4a

a = 84/4 = 21m

Area of the square = a² ( a = side ) = 21 × 21 = 441m²
