Step-by-step explanation:

Given

The perimeter of a square room is 40 m.

so

let length = x

then breadth = x ( because in square all side are equal )

(i) Perimeter = 40 m

2(x+x) = 40

2x+2x = 40

4x = 40

x =10 cm

(ii) area of its floor

area = side²

= 10²

= 100 cm^2

(iii) the cost of carpeting the floor at Rs 70 per sq. metre.

= 100×70

= ₹ 7000

c) find the cost of carpeting the floor at rs 70

cost = 100×70

= rs 7000
