If a metre is the side of a square then its area will be a² metre².
Here, a²=1600
or, a=√1600
or, a=40m
∴, Perimeter of the square = 4a = 4×40=160 m.

Solution:-
Given : Area of the square = 1600 sq m
Area of a square = side × side
Side² = 1600
Side = √1600
Side of square = 40 m
Perimeter of square = 4 × side
= 4 × 40
Perimeter of square = 160 m
