Let the third side be a.

Perimeter is the sum of the length of the sides.

Therefore,

4x^2 - 7xy + 4y^2 - 3 + 5 + 6y^2 - 8xy + x^2 + a = 7x^2 - 17xy + 5y^2 + 8

5x^2 + 10y^2 - 15xy + 2 + a = 7x^2 + 5y^2 - 17xy + 8

a = 7x^2 - 5x^2 + 5y^2 - 10y^2 - 17xy + 15xy + 8 - 2

a = 2x^2 - 5y^2 - 2xy + 6
