Given:-

perimeter of a rectangular field is 540m

side are in the ratio 25:17:12

To be found :

The longest side

So,

To find longest side we have to find the value of all

Let sides of the triangle be

first side        =  25x  ,

second side =  17x

third side      = 12x

perimeter of triangle = sum of all side

 => 540 = 25x + 17x + 12x \\ \\ => 540 = 54x \\ \\ =>\frac{540}{54}=x \\ \\ =>10 = x

first side =  25x = 25 X 10 = 250m

second side = 17x = 17 X 10 = 170m

third side = 12x = 12 X 10 = 120m

longest side is the first one. (250m)

CHECK

sum of all sides of triangle = perimeter

250+170+120 = 540

= 540 = 540
