We know that in an equilateral all three sides are equal.

Let the side of the equilateral triangle be x.

Therefore

Perimeter = 3 x = 36

x = 12

So, each side of the equilateral triangle = 12 cm

Semi perimeter of the triangle = 36/2 = 18 cm

Area of the triangle = √[s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)] where s is semi perimeter

Area of the triangle = √[18(6)(6)(6)]

                                 = √3888

                                 = 62.35 cm² nearly
