the perimeter of an isocles triangle is 24 cm the leneght of its congurent side is 13 cm less than twice the leneght of its base find the leneght of all sides of the triangle

Answer:

Let the length of base be x cm

So, length of each cong. side = (2x - 13) cm

Perimeter = 24 cm

2 × ( 2x - 13 ) + x = 24 cm

4x - 26 + x = 24

3x = 24 +26

3x = 50

x = 50/3 cm

x = 16.67 cm ( approximately)

Length of base = x = 16.67 cm

Length of other cong side = 2x - 13 =( 2 × 16.67 ) - 13

= 33.34 - 13 = 20.34 cm
