Let be the equal sides = X and base = y.

The perimeter of isosceles triangle is 42cm.

But y= 2/3(x+x)

=2/3×2x

=4x/3

So, x+x+y =42

=2x+4x/3=42

=6x+4x/3=42

=10x=42×3

=x=42×3/10

x=126/10=12.6

y =4x/3

=4×12.6/3

=4×4.2

=16.8

Its given

Perimeter of isocsles triangle=42cm

Let the equal sides be =x

Let the base be =y

y=2/3(x+x)

y=2/3(2x)

y=4x/3

It perimeter of triangle is 42cm

it means

x+x+y=42(putting the y value here)

2x+4x/3=42

Taking L.C.M

6x+4x/3=42

6x+4x=126

10x=126

x=12.6cm(it is equal of triangle)

putting x value in

y=4x/3

y=4*12.6/3

it come

y=16.8cm(length of triangle).. ..Ans

______

Hope it helps you!!!!!
