AB + BC + CA = 21 .....(1)

Since AB = AC

(1) can be written as

AB+AB+5 = 21 (given other side =5)

2AB = 16

AB = 8

The equal sides measure 8

since the triangle is an isosceles triangle

two sides will be equal and the third will not be equal so

let the equal sides of the triangles be x then

atq,

x+x+5=21

2x+5=21

2x=21-5

2x=16

x=16/2

x=8

so the equal sides of the triangle measure 8 cm each
