The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 13 2 by 5 cm. if the length of the equal side of the triangle is 5 1 by 2 cm each, then find the length of the third side.

Answer: Two equal sides= 51/2cm each

Perimeter= 132/5cm

Let the 3rd side be = x

Now, A.T.Q.

2(51/2)+x = 132/5 cm

51+x = 132/5 cm

x = 132/5-51

x = (132-255)/5

x = -123/5cm

hence length of side can't be negative the formation of triangle is wrong
