The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 32 cm and each of the equal sides is 12 cm. Find the

area of the triangle.​

equal sides given so = 12 + 12 + x = 32 cm

3rd side = 32 - 24 = 8cm

therefore using herons formula we can find area so

semi perimeter is 16

using \sqrt{s} (s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

= whole root 16 x 4 x 4 x 8

square root of 2048 is approx 45.25

so area is 45.25cm2

perimeter = side +side +side

32 = 12+12+x

32 = 24+x

32-24 = x

8 = x

side3=x

area of triangle=½base*height (base=12, height=8)

 \frac{1}{2 }  \times 12 \times 8 \} \\ 6 \times 8 \\ 48

area =48
