QUESTIONS:-

The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 35 cm. The ratio of the length of congruent side to the base is 2:3. Find the length of all sides of a triangle.

EXPLANATION:-

Let the two sides be 2x and 3x and 3x [SINCE THE TRIANGLE IS ISOSCELES

SO TWO OF IT'S SIDE IS EQUAL]

Perimeter of the triangle=35 cm

We know that:-

Perimeter of triangle=sum of all it's side

35=2x+3x+3x

35=8x

x=35/8

x=4.3 cm

So the sides will be:-

2x=2(4.2)

=>8.4

3x=3(4.3)

=>12.9

3x=3(4.3)

=>12.9

Given,

The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 35cm.

The ratio of congruent side to the base is 2:3

We have to find the length of all sides of a triangle

We know that an isosceles triangle opposite sides are congruent

So,

Let the sides be 2x,3x and 3x

We know that

Perimeter of an isosceles triangle = 2a+b

35=2x+2(3x)

35= 2x+6x

35=8x

x= \frac{35}{8}

x= 4.375

We have to substitute x= 4.375

2x= 2\times 4.375

=8.75

3x= 3\times 4.375

= 13.125

Therefore, the length of all sides of a triangle is 8.75, 13.125 and 13.125.
