Answer:

let the base be 3/2x

X+X+3/2X = 42

7/2x=42

x= 42*2/7

x=12

3/2x=18

x= 12

12+12+18=42

Area

herons formula

✓s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

s=42/2= 21

a=12

b=12

c=18

a=✓21(21-12)(21-12)(21-18)

a=✓21(9)(9)(3)

a=9✓21(3)

a=9✓7*3*3

a=9*3✓7

a=27✓7

a=27✓7=71.42

area of triangle=1/2*base *height

71.42=1/2*18*h

h=71.42*2/18

h=7.937
