Question:-

  • the perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 42 cm and its base is 1 ½ times each of the equal sides. Find the length of each side of the triangles (Given, √7 = 2.64).

Given:-

  • Perimeter of isosceles triangle is 42 cm
  • Base is 1½ times of each equal sides

To find:-

  • Length of each sides if triangle

Solution:-

 \underline{ \boxed{ \mathfrak{ \blue{Perimeter \:  of  \: Isosceles  \: triangle= sum  \: of  \: all \:  sides}}}}

  \longrightarrow \: 42 = a + a +  \frac{3}{2} a  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: ( \: base = 1 \frac{1}{2}  \: of \: sides)

42 =  \frac{7a}{2}

7a = 42 \times 2

7a = 84

a =  \frac{84}{7}  = 12 \: cm

base =      \: 1\frac{1}{2}   \:  = \frac{3}{2}

 \cancel{12 } \:  \:  ^{6} \times  \frac{3}{ \cancel{2}  }

base = 18 \: cm

Therefore the length of sides of triangle is 12 cm,12 cm ,18 cm.

 \huge{ \underline{ \color{maroon}{ \mathfrak{Verification:-}}}}

Perimeter = sum of all sides

 = 12 \: cm + 12 \: cm \:  + 18 \: cm

 = 42 \: cm

 \boxed{ \underline{ \mathfrak{ \blue{Hence \:  proved  \: that \:  the  \: measures  \: are \:  correct  \: ✅}}}}
