The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 54cm. the ratio of the equal side to its base is 5:8.Find the area of the triangle.​

Answer:

let the common ratio be x

then equal sides are 5x and base is 8x.

perimeter= 5x+5x+8x=54

18x=54

x=54/18=3

x=3

base =8x= 8×3=24

equal sides=3x= 3×3=9
