the perimeter of isosceles traingle is 30 cm . The length of its congruent sides is 3 cm more than its base. find the lengths of all sides.

x+3+x+3+x=30

3x+6=30

3x=30-6

3x=24

x=24/3

x=8

it's congruent sides are 11 each and Base is 8

perimeter= A+B+A= 30

=> 2A+B= 30...........................(1)

given. A= B+3

=> A-B= 3.......................(2)

=>. 3A= 33=> A= 11

=>. A. = 11 cm

substituting in (1)

2×11+B= 30

=> B= 8 cm

therefore length of congruent

sides= 11 cm

length of base = 8 cm
