GiveN :

  • Perimeter of Triangle = 43/4 cm
  • One of it's equal side is 17/6

To FinD :

  • Third Side

Solution :

In an isosceles triangle two of it's sides are of equal magnitude, and one side is different. Formula for perimeter is sum of Sides,

Let, equal sides be x m and unequal side be y cm. So, x = 17/6 cm

⇒Perimeter = Sum of Sides

⇒Perimeter = x + x + y

⇒Perimeter = 2x + y

⇒43/4 = 2(17/6) + y

⇒43/4 = 17/3 + y

⇒y = 43/4 - 17/3

⇒y = (43*3 - 17*4)/12

⇒y = (129 - 68)/12

⇒y = 61/12

\therefore Another side of triangle is 61/12 cm

Answer:

The third side of triangle is 61/12

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the question in isosceles ∆ ABC the two sides are equal

Given, Perimeter of triangle= 43/4 cm

Two equal length sides of triangle = 17/6 cm

Let the third side of triangle be x

Perimeter = Sum of all the sides of triangle

43/4 cm= 17/6 cm +17/6 cm + x

43/4 cm = 34/6 cm + x

x = 43/4 cm - 34/6 cm

x = [ ( 43*3 - 34*2 ) ] /12

=> Third side is 61/12
