56=2 (15+x)
28=15+x
28-15=x
13=x
the measurement of adjacent to side is 13 cm

Given:

the perimeter of a parallelogram is 56cm

To Find:

if one side measurement is 15 cm find the measurement of adjacent sides

Solution:

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with opposites sides being parallel to each other. The opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal and the adjacent angles are supplementary. The diagonals of the parallelogram bisect each other.

The perimeter of a parallelogram with sides a and b can be written as,

Perimeter= 2(a+b)

it is given that the perimeter is 56cm and one of the sides is 15 cm so by using the above formula the value of the 2nd side can be calculated as,

56=2(a+15)

28=a+15

a=13 cm

Hence, the measurement of the sides is 15cm and 13 cm.
