Answer:

Given :

Perimeter = 104 m

Let the Width of pool = X

Let the length of pool = 1 m +2x

(because length is 1 m more then twice of width)

so, the perimeter = 2(length + breath)

2(x +1+2x) = 104

= 2(3x +1) = 104

= 6x +2 = 104

= 6x = 104-2

= 6x = 102

= X = 102/6

= X = 17

Hence the width = X = 17 m

and length = 1 m +2x

= 1 m +2(17)

= 1 m +34

length = 35 m

so, Length = 35 m

Width = 17 m

VERIFICATION

Perimeter = 2 (length + breadth)

2 (17 + 35) = 104

2 (52) = 104

104 = 104

LHS = RHS

Hence proved.

Length = 35 m

Width = 17 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Perimeter of a pool is 104 m.
  • Length of pool is 1 m more than twice the width.

To Find:

  • What is the measure of length & width of pool ?

Solution: Let the measure of width of pool be x m. Therefore

➟ Length of pool = (Twice the width + 1) m

➟ Length = (2x + 1) m

Since, the pool is in rectangular form. So

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( Length + Width )

A/q

  • Perimeter of pool = 104 m

\implies{\rm } 104 = 2 ( Length + Width )

\implies{\rm } 104 = 2 ( 2x + 1 + x )

\implies{\rm } 104 = 2 \times ( 3x + 1 )

\implies{\rm } 104 = 6x + 2

\implies{\rm } 104 2 = 6x

\implies{\rm } 102 = 6x

\implies{\rm } 17 m = x

So,

➙ Length of pool = (2x + 1) m

➙ Length = 2(17) + 1 = 34 + 1 = 35 m

➙ Width of pool = x = 17 m
