Answer:

perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b)

40 cm=2(12+b)

20=12+b

b=8cm breadth = 8 cm

area of rectangle=length*breadth

area=12cm*8cm

area of rectangle=96 cm square

Given that

P = 40, l = 12

As we know that

Perimeter of Rectangle (P) = 2 * (length + breadth)

ie. P = 2*(l+b)

=> 40 = 2 ×(12 + b)

=> 40 / 2 = (12 + b)

=> 20 = 12 + b

=> 20 - 12 = b

=> 8 = b

=> b = 8

Area=l×b=12×8=96 sq.cm
