the perimeter of rectangle is 40cm .the length of rectangle is 2cm more than twice of its breadth then find the length and breadth​

Answer:

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm

so, the length is (2x + 2) cm

so, according to the question,

2(x + 2x + 2) = 40

2(3x + 2) = 40

3x + 2 =  \frac{40}{2}

3x + 2 = 20

3x = 20 - 2

3x = 18

x =  \frac{18}{3}

x = 6

so the breadth is 6 cm and the length is

(2 x 6 + 2) cm = (12 + 2) cm = 14 cm
