Step-by-step explanation:

Let length of rectangle=lcm

breadth of rectangle= bcm

Given length is 3 times its breadth

i.e. l= 3×b

Perimeter of the rectangle= 120 cm

i.e.2×( l+ b)=120

2×(3×b+ b)=120

2×(4×b)=120

8×b=120

b= 15 cm

Given :

  • Breadth of Rectangle is less than its length by 3 .
  • Perimeter of Rectangle is 54 cm .

To Find :

  • Length and Breadth of Rectangle .

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:Length\:of\:Rectangle\:be=x}

As given that Breadth of Rectangle is less than its length by 3 . So ,

\longmapsto\tt{Breadth=x-3}

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{Perimeter\:of\:Rectangle=2(l+b)}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{54=2(x+x-3)}

\longmapsto\tt{\cancel\dfrac{54}{2}=2x-3}

\longmapsto\tt{27=2x-3}

\longmapsto\tt{27+3=2x}

\longmapsto\tt{30=2x}

\longmapsto\tt{x=\cancel\dfrac{30}{2}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{x=15}

Value of x is 15 ..

Therefore :

\longmapsto\tt\bf{Length\:of\:Rectangle=15\:cm}

\longmapsto\tt{Breadth\:of\:Rectangle=15-3}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{12\:cm}
