SOLUTION :

Given :

  • The perimeter of rectangular

       field is 3/5 km = 600 m {3/5×1000 m}

  • Its length is twice its breadth

To find :

  • The area of the field in metre square

Let the breadth is 'x' and its length

is twice its breadth then it becomes

'2x'

Now,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l + b)

  • ⇒600 m = 2 (2x + x)
  • ⇒600 m = 2 × 3x
  • ⇒600 m = 6x
  • ⇒x = 600 ÷ 6
  • ∴ x = 100 m

So,

  Length = 2x = 2× 100 = 200 m

Breadth = x = 100 m

Now we find area of rectangular

field

Area of rectangle = l × b

                             = 200 × 100

                             = 20000 m²
