Answer:

Let the length of plot be 'x'

breadth be 'y'

Given, 2(l+b) = 36

x = 18 - y------(1)

If length is increased by 6m and breadth is decreased by 3m, area remains same.

Area of rectangle = l×b

(x+6) × (y-3) = xy

x(y-3) + 6(y-3) = xy

xy - 3x + 6y -18 = xy

Substituting the value of x from eq 1

-3(18-y) + 6y = 18

-54 + 3y + 6y = 18

9y = 72

y = 8m

Substituting the value of 'y' in equation 1

x = 18-8

x = 10m.

Therefore,

length= 10m

breadth = 8m
