Given:

  • Perimeter of rectangular floor = 162m
  • Length of floor is 3m more than twice breadth.

To Find:

  • Length of floor?
  • Breadth of floor?

Solution:

Here, we have given that Perimeter of a rectangular floor is 162m where length of floor is 3m more than twice the breadth.

■ Let suppose that breadth of floor is x.

■ ∴ Length of floor will be 2x + 3

We know that :

        \large{\boxed{\bf{Perimeter~of~rectangle~=~2(L+B)}}}

Where:

  • Perimeter = 162
  • L = 2x + 3
  • B = x

Let put values in formula :-

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(L + B)

→ 162 = 2(2x + 3 + x)

→ 162 = 2(3x + 3)

→ 162 = 6x + 6

→ 6x = 162 - 6

→ 6x = 156

→ x = 156/6

→ x = 26

Therefore,

  • Value of x = 26

Hence :-

  • Length of floor = 2x + 3 = 2×26 + 3 = 55m
  • Breadth of floor = x = 26m
