by Pythagoras theoram we find that

DB^2 = DE^2+BE^2

13^2 = 12^2 + BE^2

169= 144+ BE^2

169-144= BE^2

25 = BE^2

BE = 5

AB = AE+BE

AB = 9 + 5

AB = 14

perimeter = 14+12+13+9

perimeter = 48
