Question ⏬

The perimeter of the base of a cube is 56 cm. Find its lateral surface area and total surface area.

Answer ⏬

Base of cube << A Square.

Perimeter of the base square << 56 cm.

4a << 56 cm.

a << 56/4

a << 14 cm.

Side of a square << 14 cm.

Lateral Surface Area of Cube <<

4a {}^{2}

LSA of the cube << 4 x 14 x 14

lsa \: of \: the \: cube < < 78 \: cm {}^{2}

TSA of the cube << 6 x 14 x 14

tsa \: of \: the \: cube < < 1176 \: cm {}^{2}

Solution

Given :-

 • Perimeter of the base of a cube = 55 cm

Find :-

 • Lateral surface area & Total Surface area

Explanation

Formula

Perimeter of Cube = 12a

Lateral surface area of Cube = 4a²

Total surface area of cube = 6

Where,

 • a = side of cube

We Know,

 • Base of cube = A square

Now, calculate one by one,

==> 56 = Perimeter of square

==> 4a = 56

==> a = 56/4

==> a = 14 cm

_____________________

Now, Calculate lateral surface area

==> Lataral surface area of cube = 4a²

Keep Value of a

==> Lateral y area of cube = 4 × (14)²

==> Lateral surface area = 4 × 196

==> Lateral surface area = 784 cm²

____________________

Now, Calculate total surface area of cube

==> TSA of cube = 6a²

==> TSA = of cube = 6 × (14)²

==> TSA of cube = 6 × 196

==> TSA of cube = 1176 cm²
