Given :–

  • Perimeter of the rectangle = 20cm.
  • Length of the rectangle (l) = 6cm

To Find :–

  • Breadth of the rectangle (b).

Solution :–

We know that,

Perimeter = 2(l + b)

Given that,

  • Perimeter = 20cm
  • length (l) = 6cm

Now, put the given values in the formula of perimeter of the rectangle.

⟹ 2(l + b) = 20cm

⟹ 2(6 + b) = 20cm

⟹ 6 + b =  \dfrac{\cancel{20}}{\cancel2}

⟹ 6 + b = 10

⟹ b = 10 – 6

⟹ b = 4cm

Hence,

The breath of the rectangle is 4cm.

Check :–

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l + b)

  • Perimeter = 20cm
  • length (l) = 6cm
  • breadth (b) = 4cm

⟹ 20cm = 2(6cm + 4cm)

⟹ 20cm = 2(10cm)

⟹ 20cm = 20cm

Hence, The L.H.S. and the R.H.S. are equal.

So, the answer is correct.

Answer:

4 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter is 20 cm

length is 6 cm

Let the breadth be b

hence,

2(l+b)=20 cm

putting value in variables...

2(6+b)=20 cm

6+b=20/2cm

6+b=10cm

b=10-6cm

b=4cm....

Hence solved
