so, length=(5x-4)

A/Q, perimeter of rectangle=2(length+breadth)

40 =2(5x-4 +x)

40 =2(6x-4)

40=12x-4

12x=4+40

12x=44

x=44/12

x=11/6

so, putting the value of x in length and breadth

breadth =(5x-4)

5×11/6-4

55/6-4

31/6

length=x

11/6
